One Sunday early in Lent, as we explored the prophet Micah’s instruction that we “do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God,” Interim Pastor Rev. Michael Piazza called on First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan to form a new justice ministry. After an informal outing to see the film “The Best of Enemies,” Rev. Piazza now would like to gather at Pesca Peruvian Bistro (70 Main Street) following the 5 p.m. Eventide service on Sunday, May 19, to brainstorm ideas and directions. To be a part of this important conversation, please email pastor@fpcnc.org to let Michael know that you will join him so we can let the restaurant know how many of us to expect.

Justice Ministry In a recent sermon, Interim Pastor Rev. Dr. Michael Piazza suggested that no single act of justice will do much to change the world. Writing letters, sending emails, and speaking up alone are not enough. “But hear me clearly,” he said, “the world will never be changed unless we join together to do justice.” To that end, we would like to create a justice ministry at First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan. Rev. Piazza and Associate Pastor Rev. Kibbie Laird will schedule a gathering soon to brainstorm ideas and directions. If you would like to be a part of the conversation, please email pastor@fpcnc.org to let Michael and Kibbie know of your willingness and desire to make this world a better place.
