Pennies From Heaven?  2016 Cents-Ability Update

The total for our 2016 “noisy” Sunday Cents-ability collections totaled $2,314 (up 19,900 pennies from 2015!) Our Cents-ability objective is to
provide hunger relief locally, regionally, nationally and globally.

In December 2016, our “coins” were disbursed. $1,157 was distributed to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County which supplies food to area food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and other initiatives fighting hunger. $579 was donated to the Presbyterian Church USA Hunger Relief Programs to
be used to combat hunger nationally and internationally.  $578 was provided to our First Presbyterian Youth; the money will be used as part
of Youth Group activities to purchase food for the New Canaan Food Pantry.

Your generosity raised hunger awareness and provided nourishment for our neighbors. It’s amazing what we can do collectively with our coins when we act intentionally. Thank you, and let’s strive to respond to relieving hunger in 2017!

Our next collection is June 4th.
